Fishing
Sport Fishing at Murchison Falls National Park is an unforgettable adventure and is also ideal as a side trip to add to your safari. It can either be done in half or a full day fishing to get you hooked on the Nile Perch experience. While out fishing you will also have the chance to spot some hippo, crocodile, elephant and unique birdlife of the area.
Fishing at Murchison requires expert assistance to ensure both client safety and the best opportunity for successful fishing. The fishing is either from the rocks on the bank of the river or slightly lower downstream in the pools from a boat. Our fishing safaris access all fishing spots by boat from the launching point at Paraa or from the riverside lodge in Murchison Falls National Park.
The most successful fishing months vary from year to year, but generally it is accepted that the drier months produce better fishing results – December to March and June to October. We catch all year round as it’s just that in these months there is less chance of rain, the water level is lower and clearer. Murchison Falls lies in the northwest of Uganda, approximately 6 hours drive from Kampala.
